​Do players and coaches need to be actively registered with USA Water Polo?  What about International Teams?
Yes! Coaches and players from USA-based water polo teams must be registered with USA Water Polo.  This is a requirement for insurance purposes. (Bronze Level for USA Water Polo players).

International Teams seeking to enter must follow  USA Water Polo guidelines.  They are found at usawaterpolo.org.  As of January 2023, requirements for International Teams are:

"International teams, confirmed through their host federation, are allowed to participate in USA Water Polo sanctioned events, but are not covered under the USAWP Insurance policy.  The following are required to participate:  

- International Team Participation Waiver form (per USA Water Polo) prior to entering the water for a practice, training, or game.
- A letter from the host federation, confirming the team is in good membership status with their host federation.
- A certificate of insurance naming USA Water Polo as additional insured."
​ REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL TEAMS
USA Water Polo requires the following from non-US Teams:​
  • Completed International Participation Waiver (PDF Form).  Download form HERE.
  • A letter from the host federation stating the club/team is in good standing with their host federation.
  • A certificate of insurance naming USA Water Polo as additionally insured.
  • ​Submit the aforementioned via email to [email protected].
  • Note:  International teams will not be covered by the event insurance policy secured through Hawai'i Water Polo's association with USA Water Polo.
After entry, each team will be provided with:
  • Confirmation of entry (via e-mail)
  • Periodic tournament updates (via e-mail)​
  • A request for roster submissions (July)
  • Tournament schedule (July)

Just prior to the tournament, teams must provide:
  • Confirmation of USAWP registration for all participants - Bronze level membership is sufficient (US Teams)
  • USAWP Waiver request (International Teams)

Approximately one week prior to the start of competition, the Tournament Welcome Packet will be available for download.  It will contain maps to all venues, Playing Rules and Schedule.  ​
